Terms of use

These terms govern your use of the Bead app (“the app”). By installing or using the app, you agree to them.

The app

Bead is a to-do list and reminder app, provided as-is. It keeps your lists on your device and is not a backup service — it sends nothing to us and we hold no copy of anything you write in it.

It does not notify you

Bead deliberately sends no notifications, sets no alarms and schedules nothing in the background. It is a list you look at, and it must not be relied on to raise an alert for anything time-critical, medical, legal or financial. Use a tool built for that where the consequence of forgetting matters.

Early Access

While Bead is in Early Access it is a released app that is still changing: features can be added, altered or withdrawn between builds, and updates arrive automatically. The rest of these terms apply in full.

Licence

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the app except where such restriction is prohibited by law.

Purchases

As it stands, Bead is free and there is nothing to buy inside it: no subscription, no unlock, nothing to cancel. If that ever changes, it will be described here first, with a new date on this page.

Your content

The tasks, notes, lists and files you put in Bead are yours. Bead does not upload them, and attachments are copies of files you chose — you remain responsible for having the right to use whatever you attach.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it stable and pleasant to use, but we cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zone7 Studios Pty Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the app — including anything you forget to do. Where our liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to resupplying the app or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always lives on this page, with the date it last changed.
