If it never notifies me, how does it remind me?

You look. That's the design, not a limitation — Bead opens straight to Today, so the reminder is already on the screen by the time you've finished opening the app. On Android you can also put the Today widget on your home screen, which puts it in front of you without anything having to interrupt you.

Can I turn notifications on?

No, and there's no switch for it. Bead has no notification code, no alarm and nothing scheduled in the background — it isn't a setting that's switched off, it's an app that can't. That's the whole promise, and it isn't going to change.

I finished something by accident

Tap Undo in the message that appears — it's there for a few seconds. After that it's still not lost: finished tasks stay under Done today until tomorrow, and tapping one gives you Not done yet.

I completed a repeating task and it vanished

It didn't — the next occurrence took its place, dated forward, so it's sitting in Soon or Later. Bead only ever creates the next one when you finish or skip the current one, which is why a repeat can never pile up behind you.

I ignored a daily task for three weeks. Why is there only one?

Because twenty-one identical rows would be a punishment, not a reminder. One row, waiting, is the honest version of “this didn't happen yet”.

How do I skip one without breaking the repeat?

Open the task and choose Skip this one. It clears this occurrence, sets the next one, and says nothing else about it. It's undoable too.

What is the Waiting lane?

Everything still open whose date has gone by. It sits below Today in muted amber, collapsed to one line — “4 waiting — still here when you're ready” — and it's sorted newest first, because the oldest thing on your list is not automatically the most pressing thing in your life.

I gave a task a time. Will it alert me?

No. The time is shown on the row so you know when the thing is; nothing in Bead can ring, buzz or pop up.

Where does my data live? What happens on a new phone?

On your phone, in Bead's own storage. There's no account and no server, so there's nothing to sign into and nothing of yours anywhere else. On Android your lists ride your phone's own backup to a new device — a phone-to-phone transfer carries the attachments too. On iPhone the same files sit in the app's storage and travel in your device's own backup. Bead itself uploads nothing.

Why doesn't Bead ask me for any permissions on Android?

Because it doesn't need any. Your tasks live inside the app, photos and files come in through Android's own pickers, which hand over only what you picked, and the widget is a plain home-screen widget. On Android, Bead has never shown a runtime permission prompt — that's a promise the build is checked against, not a habit.

How do I get Bead?

Not yet — Bead hasn't been released. Android goes first, in Early Access on Google Play, and there's nothing to join in the meantime. See what Early Access will mean.
